About Us
Passion, Craftsmanship, and Tradition
Stowaway Sweets has been a beloved small business and local icon in Marblehead, Massachusetts, for nearly a century. Known for our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and superior customer service, we take pride in offering hand-dipped chocolates made with care and tradition.
What sets Stowaway Sweets apart is our dedication to excellence. Our chocolates are crafted daily in our onsite factory, located just below our shop, ensuring freshness without the use of additives or preservatives. We believe that the secret to our irresistible chocolates is not only what you taste—but also what you don’t.
As a family-owned and operated business, we are passionate about preserving our long-standing traditions while embracing innovation. Owners and chocolatiers Don and Emily DeWitt bring their extensive backgrounds in food and hospitality, along with their love of artisan chocolate and design, to every batch of chocolates they create.
Beyond crafting fine chocolates, we are committed to sustainability and giving back to our community. We proudly support organizations such as The Cocoa Horizons Foundation, Every Mother Counts, My Brother’s Table, RAW Artworks, The Marblehead Food Pantry, The Little Free Pantry, Marblehead Public Schools, The Marblehead Arts Association, and Marblehead Youth Sports.
We invite you to visit our shop, tucked within a lush, secret English garden, to experience the magic of Stowaway Sweets firsthand. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and explore our features in The Boston Globe, The Marblehead Reporter, and NorthShore Magazine to learn more about our story.
