Stowaway Sweets chocolate factory and shop has been tucked within a lush, secret, English garden in the beautiful seaside Town of Marblehead, Massachusetts since 1929.
Three generations of family members have been lovingly hand dipping chocolates on site with their original chocolate recipes for almost 100 years.
Current owners and chocolatiers, Don and Emily DeWitt bring years of experience in food and hospitality as well as their love of gourmet food, artisan chocolate and design to the marble tables of Stowaway Sweets chocolate factory. Emily's first job as a young student was working at Stowaway Sweets before embarking in a career in film, fashion and food. Don is a trained Executive Chef and Chocolatier who started his career in New York City's top restaurants.

Word about the delectability and quality of Stowaway Sweets hand dipped chocolates spread quickly through the years and throughout the world. Loyal customers have included everyone from The Queen Mother, Winston Churchill, President Calvin Coolidge (whose favorite was our French Mint Fudge!) and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Original correspondence between these impressive clients are displayed on the walls of Stowaway Sweets. Their popularity led to the loyalty of many other dignitaries and celebrities including Katherine Hepburn, Barbra Streisand, Sandra Bullock and Oprah Winfrey just to name a few.
